Welcome to the:

In the English society of 1768 where women are bred to marry, unattractive Alexia, just sixteen, believes she will end up alone. But on the county doorstep of a neighbor’s estate, she meets a man straight out of her nightmares, one whose blue eyes threaten to consume her whole world—especially when she discovers him standing over her murdered host in the middle of the night.

Her nightmares become reality: a dead baron, red-eyed wraiths, and forbidden love with a man hunted by these creatures. After an attack close to home, Alexia realizes she cannot keep one foot in her old life and one in this new world. To protect her family she must either be sold into a loveless marriage, or escape with her beloved and risk becoming one of the Soulless.

Author Crystal Collier has a bunch of blogging hacks signed up to answer the following question. Keep in mind there are no wrong or right answers. As far as I know, no bloggers will be harmed in this release party blogfest. O.o

So here’s the question:

If you lived in a society where arranged marriages were a la mode, who would you beg your parents to set you up with? Why? (Literary characters and celebrities welcomed.)

Anybody? Celebrities and literary men, too? Gosh. That list could be long! Everybody from Fitzwilliam Darcy to Hugh Jackman! *drools* Er…Um….. But why be so predictable, hmm? Why not reach for something a little more … well, different? How about….Data from Star Trek?

Now, before you go all android-hating on me, let me just point out that I have an android-human love story coming out from Decadent Publishing on March 4th. In it, a very hot secret agent android falls for a woman quite his opposite, and she for him. And I don’t mean just his detachable penis! So, it can happen, and besides, here are some points about Data you might want to think about:

1. He doesn’t require food

2. He can’t get sick

3. He’s super strong!

4. He likes cats.

5. His digits are extremely talented…. just ask Tasha Yar!

6. He’s designed to be floatable in the case of a water event.

7. He has an emotion chip and knows how to use it.

8. He’s super smart

9. Just a blow on his skin gets him all hot and bothered…

10. I’m sure his penis is easily detachable!

So there you have it. Ten good reasons to consider asking your parents to set you up with an android. It’s not for everyone, but you have to admit, it has certain perks!

  1. I kind of had a crush on Data. He was a good man, um android. Warf was my man though – no need to worry about him not having emotions or being detachable and loosing anything important.
