Today marks day 1 of the Summer Chillin’ Blog Hop. Great summertime recipes are ahead for your snagging and we hope that you enjoy them!
Today, to start things off right, I bring you Hemingway’s Mojito recipe.
Hemingway’s Mojito recipe:
6 fresh mint sprigs
1 oz. lime juice – by the way use real lime the other stuff is too strong!
3/4 oz. simple syrup – i used Stevia in mine. It tasted fine!
2 oz. light rum
Crush 5 mint sprigs into the bottom of a chilled highball glass. Pour in lime juice, simple syrup, and rum. Fill glass with crushed ice. Garnish with lime wedge and remaining mint sprig. Hemingway would sometimes add a splash of club soda. (LOL my kind of guy! Why dilute the alcohol?)
To make the simple syrup just boil 2 Cups of sugar and 1 Cup of water for one minute. Then cool. Save in a glass bottle or jar.
